BrandWiki's opinion:

NOT trustworthy and/or sustainable Greenpeace Label Check AT 2018

Criteria of RSPO are much too weak to protect rain forests and are also often not met. Deforestation of forests not declared as primary is not forbidden. No limits for greenhouse gas emissions, draining of peat bogs is not forbidden. Violations of human rights like child labour and forced labor are tolerated.

We are a not-for-profit that unites stakeholders from the 7 sectors of the palm oil industry: oil palm producers, processors or traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks/investors, and environmental and social non-governmental organisations (NGOs), to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil.

Since 2004, over 4000 members worldwide gather in the voluntary union of RSPO.

Greenpeace Austria is criticising RSPO (Source: Quality seal check by Greenpeace Austria (DE)): Unilever is founding member of RSPO. Unilever itself profits a lot from palm oil for its products, it has the largest use worldwide. This seems to be blocking improvements from RSPO.

RSPO certifies companies for "Principles & Criteria" (growers, producers) as well as "Supply Chain". (source)
